Soprano Dohee Kim was born in Korea. She started her musical career at age 6, participating in young artist singing contests and winning several prizes. She studied singing and entered Kyunghee University School of Music with a scholarship.
After she got both bachelor and master degrees from Kyunghee University School of Music, she started vocal teaching at a music school. Till this day, she has over 20 years of teaching experience in vocal. Her students had won tons of different awards in all kinds of competitions both in Korea and in the States.
Additionally she has continually honed her vocal skills in lessons with various teachers, Ms. Mary Curtis-Verna of the University of Washington being the most influential. She also went to Italy twice to get the vocal training diploma in both 1988 and 1992.
Dohee made her successful debut in 2006 performing Cio-Cio-San(Butterfly) in Madama Butterfly with Lyric Opera Northwest. Since her successful debut, she has sung Violetta in La Traviata(2007), Contessa in Le Nozze di Figaro(2009), Nedda in Pagliacci(2009), Mimi in La Boheme(2011) and Michaela in Carmen(2013), Cio-Cio-San(Butterfly) in Madama Butterfly(2015), and Gilda in Rigoletto(2015), Violetta in La Traviata (2017).
소프라노 김 도희는 경희대학교 음악대학 성악과를 수석으로 입학한 후,대학 3학년에 휘가로 결혼의 주역 수잔나역을 맡았으며 대학원에서도 오페라 라보엠의 미미역을 맡게 되었다. 또한 대학원때 안양예고의 전임 강사로 후학을 양성하다가 두차례 이태리 빼스카라 음악원과 아씨씨에서 여름 학기 과정을 수료 하였으며 미국 시애틀에서 UW 대학에서 재직하셨던 Mary Curtis Verna 교수에게 다년간 사사 받으면서 2006년 Lyric Northwest Opera에서 나비부인 조조상을 맡게 되었다. 또한 PAFE 콩쿨에서 1등을 차지하였고 그 이후 오디션을 통하여 2007년 라트라비아타의 비올레따, 2009년 휘가로의 결혼의 백작부인,같은해에 팔리아치의 네따역을 메트로포리탄 주역 가수 테너 Eduardo Villa와 열연 하였으며 2010년 라보엠 미미역을 2013년 카르멘의 미카엘라, 2015년 데뷔 작품이였던 나비부인의 조조상을 재연하여 한인들의 위상을 높였으며 같은 해에 리골렛또의 질다역을 열연하였다. 또한 헨델의 메시아, 모짜르트의 레퀴엠을 페더럴웨이 심포니, 벨링헴 심포니, 새마미쉬 심포니와도 협연하였다.
