(An assigned audition time slot on Saturday, March 2nd, 2024 will be emailed to each participant after the registration period is closed).
Awards Ceremony and Winners Concert: March 3rd, 2024, 3:00pm
A short reception will follow the Winners Concert.
Eligibility
The competition is open to All students from 5th to 12th grade.
Divisions: Piano, String, Woodwind/Brass, Voice, Chamber
Junior Division:
This division is open to 5th to 8th grade students
Senior Division:
This division is open to 9th to 12th grade students
Enrollment
Each contestant must submit a completed application and pay a $60 application fee between January 8th - February 25th, 2024.

Requirements
Instrumental: Each performer will play one or two selections of contrasting styles from Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Contemporary periods within a 10 minute time limit.
Voice: Performers will sing two contrasting selections from classical repertoire within a 10 minute limit. No musical theater selections. Selections should be sung in original languages.
Chamber (Duets / Octets): Each Chamber group will play one or two selections of contrasting styles from Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Contemporary periods within 10 minutes. For piano duo, only four handed piano is available. Please note that we only have access to one piano.
Every contestant must perform by memory (excludes Chamber performers).
Each contestant is required to provide their own accompanist.
Performers will bring two copies of music for judges.
Entrants must check in 30 minutes before their performance.
If 10 minutes of allotted time is exceeded, judges will stop listening the performance.
Performers must come warmed up prior to arrival, as there are no practice rooms available.
If 10 minutes of performance time is exceeded, judges will stop adjudicating the performance when the allotted time is finished.
The judges' decisions are final and may not be appealed.

Prizes, Awards Ceremony, and Winners Concert
The Grand prize winner of the entire competition will receive a $500 scholarship award and have the opportunity to perform at KMA’s 44th Annual Concert, which will take place at Nordstrom Recital Hall at Benaroya Hall on June 1st, 2024.
Each division (Junior / Senior) will be awarded First Place: $200, Second Place: $100, and Honorable Mentions.
The Awards Ceremony will be held on the next day of the competition at 1212 104th Ave. SE, Bellevue, WA 98004 on March 3rd, at 3:00pm.
Selected winners will have the opportunity to perform after the Awards Ceremony in the Winners Concert.
There also may be an interview for the winners. Detailed information will be emailed to the winners.
There may be an opportunity for the winner to be invited to perform at an event at the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Seattle.
