Soprano, Yujin Kim is a district Winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Auditions, the first-place winner-PAFE (Performing Arts Festival of the Eastside), the winner of Marie Levine Scholarship Competition, and the first winner of the Civic Opera Competition. She earned her BA at the Ewha Women’s University, Seoul, Korea and she received her Masters Degree and the Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Washington. She studied with Carol Vaness, Julian Patrick, and Carmen Pelton. Her recent concert was with the Seattle Symphony at “Celebrate Asia” in January 2016.
She performed as roles of ‘Norina’ from Don Pasquale, ‘Constance’ from Dialogues des Carmélites, ‘Le feu’ from L’enfant et les sortiléges, ‘Dew Fairy’ from Hansel and Gretel, ‘Yniold’ from Pélleas et Mélisande, ‘Mimi’ from Act I of La Boheme, and ‘Suor Genovieffa’ from Suor Angelica in the United States and Korea. She also sings for the Korean community as a member of the Korean Music Association of Washington State.
